Dr. Bruce Sabatini, Principal at Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan and Ms. Anne Paolucci, NVRHS District Supervisor of English are proud to congratulate NVOT junior student, Claire Choi and the entire NVOT English Department.
Claire recently won the regional Poetry Out Loud competition at Bergen Community College for the second consecutive year and will now compete in the state finals on March 9th at The College of New Jersey. Claire will be one of twelve students out of more than 24,000 across the state of New Jersey to advance to this level of competition and will be performing three poems:
"Tomorrow" by Dennis O'Driscoll; "Mezzo Cammin" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow; and "Her Head" by John Murray.
The winner of the state finals will advance to the Nationals in Washington, D.C. in April. NVOT also would like to thank and congratulate English teacher, Mr. Jeffrey Train, for coordination of NVOT's involvement in the Poetry Out Loud competition.
