AI Literacy Summit

On Monday, December 11, 2023, the New Jersey AI Literacy Summit brought together educators and experts from over 100 districts across the state to explore the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the future of education. The event, hosted by the Northern Valley Regional High School District, provided a platform for collaboration, sharing of best practices, and exploration of innovative ways to utilize AI in classrooms.

“Today is all about collaboration, sharing emerging practices, and cultivating that spirit of innovation,” said James Santana, Superintendent of Northern Valley Regional High School District. “We have over one hundred districts represented here today, all united by a common goal: to use AI to enhance teaching and learning.”

The summit featured keynote addresses by Shiren Vijiasingam, Chief Product Officer of Instructure, Shouvik Paul, Chief Operating Officer of Copyleaks, and Amanda Bickerstaff, CEO and founder of AI for Education. The speakers provided valuable insights into the latest AI advancements and their potential impact on education.

Over 50 concurrent sessions offered attendees the opportunity to delve deeper into specific aspects of AI implementation. Sessions covered topics such as AI for personalized learning, ethical AI implementation, and using AI to create engaging learning experiences.
